0080 – Victorinox Outdoorsman (Marlboro)

This is a red 91mm Victorinox Outdoorsman with Marlboro logo. These were made for the Marlboro cigarette company and were available through their Marlboro Unlimited catalog.

Because the Marlboro logo is on the front, the Victorinox shield moved to the backside.

0046 – Victorinox Modeler

The 91mm Modeler is a discontinued knife with an uncommon combination of tools. Its key features are the magnifier, inline Phillips screwdriver, scissors and metal saw/file. Combined with two knife blades, can opener, cap lifter, awl and corkscrew this might just be one of the most useful of all Swiss Army Knifes!

The scissors have the adjustable screw pivot, which Victorinox stopped using in 1991. Therefore, this knife is at least 25 years old! I’m very happy to have found one completely new in box!

0039 – Wenger Director (SOLD)

This knife is no longer in my collection

The 85mm Director is one of the more remarkable models from Wenger, with its most characteristic tool being a telescoping pointer which can be used during a presentation.

The pointer is about 30 cm when fully extended.

There are only a few models that have this old fashioned telescoping pointer: the Director, the Manager and the Pointer. Wenger also has a model with a laser pointer.

0011 – Victorinox Swiss Champ (demolished)

This knife is no longer in my collection

This 91mm Swiss Champ is a true masterpiece, almost everything you may need in one big but still very manageable knife! The only thing that surprisingly is missing is a nail file, not even a small one on the multipurpose hook!

the Swiss Champ compared with the Handyman and the Compact…

0006 – Wenger Matterhorn Plus (SOLD)

This knife is no longer in my collection

The Matterhorn Plus is one of the biggest models from Wenger. It has 9 layers, and only the Tool Chest Plus and the Giant are bigger. It is discontinued. Its key features are the magnifier, the universal wrench and the orienteering tool.

The orienteering tool has a ruler with inches and centimeters, and it has a small removable compass. Wenger introduced the orienteering tool in late 1985. Since then six different versions of the orienteering tool were made, so by the type of orienteering tool you can date the knife. The one on my Matterhorn Plus is the first generation, and because the second generation was already introduced in 1986 this dates my knife at 1985 or 1986.
