0090 – Victorinox Soldier (1964)

This is a red alox Victorinox Soldier (model 1961), which was issued to the soldiers in the Swiss army. The first years this model was issued to the army the handles were red alox. Supposedly so the soldiers could easily find back their knife if they dropped it in the snow. The red alox wore off too easy, so after a few years the Swiss army switched to silver alox.

The ’64’ blade stamp means this knife was manufactured in 1964.

The knife has a W-K stamp on the handle, which stands for Waffen Kontrol. It means the knife passed the Swiss army quality inspection.

These years the blade stamp was “Elsener Schwyz Victoria”.
