0042 – Wenger Macao

This is the 65mm Wenger Macao, basically a luxury version of the common Wenger Esquire. It has 18 karat gold plated scales with marble green Chinese hand lacquer finish.

It is packaged in a blue jewelry box with grey-velvet lining, and also included is a black leather slip-case

0033 – Victorinox Solo (108mm)

This is the Victorinox Solo. It is from the discontinued 108mm series with nylon scales. It is a robust knife with only one large blade. There is also a knife called the Solo in the 93mm series with alox scales. The 111mm series also has a knife with only one blade, this is the Sentinel.

For some reason I have some difficulty catching the color of the scales on a photo. The scales are red but it depends on the light exposure if the color appears more towards red, red-violet or wine-red… interesting.

0031 – Victorinox Bijou SD (ARMY TACMS)

This is a red 58 mm Victorinox Bijou SD with inscription. A Bijou is basically a Classic without a keyring.

The “ARMY TACMS” refers to the Army Tactical Missile System, which is a long range guided surface-to-surface missile that is fired from a multiple rocket launcher like the M270 MLRS and HIMARS. The missiles are manufactured by Lockheed Martin.

The missiles were first used in action during the Gulf War in Operation Desert Storm (1991). I’m not sure but I think the “Combat Proven” inscription suggests this knife was made (shortly) after Operation Desert Storm to commemorate the first in combat use of the TACMS. The fact that Victorinox stopped manufacturing the Bijou model in that same period supports this assumption.

On the back side of the knife you’ll find the usual Victorinox shield.

0019 – Victorinox German Army Knife

This is the 108 mm German Army Knife. It was made by Victorinox and officially issued to the troops of the Bundeswehr (German Army) in the period 1976 to 1986. After this period, the same knife was still issued to the troops until 2003 only it was no longer being manufactured by Victorinox. There is also a civilian version available, called the Safari Trooper.

The scales are made of green (“olive drab”) nylon and on the front it has the Bundesadler (the eagle which is the coat of arms of Germany). This knife if the first in the 108 mm series.

The Victorinox Electrician is a 93 mm alox model. It is similar to the very common Pioneer model, only it replaces the can opener with an Electrician’s blade (a sheepsfoot shaped blade with a wire scraper).

0004 – Victorinox Pioneer Rancher

This is another gold alox model. It has no engraving on the back plate. As far as I know this means it is the one that is made for a Chinese Swiss Army Knife forum, and is limited to 300 pieces.
